First Impressions Inside

Ah, the foyer. The first thing guests, prospective buyers, and judging in-laws see when they step foot into your home. The foyer tells people who you are and what’s important to you. Which is why you probably don’t want to leave it as a blank canvas with nothing but stinky shoes. And you probably don’t want your architect to skip it altogether. Guests appreciate a place to sit and put their shoes and coats on or away. Grandparents love a place to linger without leaving for another 30 minutes of awkward conversations and multiple hugs. So you might as well make it look good.

Go for a bold wall that’s easy to clean mud, snow, and sludge off. Or, switch up what’s expected and opt for a bold floor instead! Bright patterns (again, easy to clean, please!), faux marble, dark geometrics. The sky is the limit in these liminal spaces.
