DIY vs Professional Help

How hard could designing or painting be? After all, enthusiasm sure beats skill in all those HGTV fixer-upper shows. Somewhere between wielding a sledgehammer, a room of mix-matched patterns, and hauling materials, weekend warriors realize they bit off more than they could chew. Passable cosmetic work might be alright for some, but other things should be left to the professionals. Blueprints, interior design, electrical work. That’s all something you’ll want to pick up the phone for. Or more likely, open the laptop.

It’s hard to imagine stopping a DIY halfway through, but a lot of homeowners will tell you that’s why their second bathroom never got finished. And when it’s time to sell and the tiles are uneven and the sink is unlevel, potential buyers will notice. When people come across evidence of one botched DIY project, they start to worry that there’s more to discover.
